DC Public Library's logo in celebration of Pride.Our summer Pride series of movies kicks off with a special screening of the landmark documentary about black and Latino drag queens in New York City who invented “voguing” a dance style imitating the poses on the cover of Vogue magazine. Defiant, exuberant, and fabulous, follow these men as they live together in families and compete in drag balls.

1991. Directed by Jennie Livingston. Starring Dorian Corey, Paris Dupree, Pepper Labeija, Junior Labeija, Willi Ninja, and Sandy Ninja. This documentary is rated R.
