Job Seekers Clinic: Tuesday, July 1
Published on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 - 11:56am
If you are a teen or young adult job seeker, writing a resume may be a new skill to you.
Check out Alternative Resumes by Michael Howard which is targeted for teen and young adults. As the subtitle suggests, this isn't the kind of resume book your parents would use. Chapters include retail, hospitality, office and technical, and community service. The book provides sample resumes and frequently asked questions (FAQs) about resume design. An appendix includes questions to help your resume writing. Copies of the book are available throughout the library system.
The Cleveland Park Library Job Seekers Clinic is from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month. You can receive help setting up an account on popular job websites, filling out online job applications, and writing cover letters and resumes. This is in conjunction with the Mayor's "One City One Hire" program.
