Thank you Washington Nationals and Drew Storen!

Pitcher Drew Storen's visit to the Mount Pleasant Neighborhood Library
Washington Nationals pitcher Drew Storen at the Mount Pleasant Library

Thank you for joining us as we hosted Washington Nationals baseball player Drew Storen at the Mount Pleasant Neighborhood Library on Saturday, July 19.  A pitcher for the Nationals, Drew read Baseball Hour by Carol Nevius to a group of excited children and answered questions from the crowd about what it takes to be a professional baseball player, what was his favorite book as a child, and who is the funniest player on the team.

The event was a lot of fun and every child left with a free baseball themed book, donated by the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation, which included a postcard with Drew Storen's autograph!  The DC Public Library thanks the Washington Nationals for their generosity and support in the community and of our Summer Reading Program!
