The Mt. Pleasant Library Book Club Presents

The Mt. Pleasant Library Book Club's selection for March is The Turn of The Screw, by Henry James.
Published in 1898, this novella was written almost on a dare by the author, whose friends suggested he write something completely different for a change. Tipping its hat to such gothic classics as Jane Eyre and The Mysteries of Udolpho, the story is set in a remote country estate where a recently hired governess finds herself protecting her two young charges from more than what meets the eye---or is she? Ambiguous and atmospheric, it has been the inspiration for countless tales of the supernatural.
Join us Wednesday, March 10, at 7 p.m. for a spirited discussion of this classic Victorian ghost story.
