The BBC’s guest for the March edition of the World Book Club is John Boyne, author of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Set in Germany in 1942, it tells the story of 9-year-old Bruno, who comes home one day to find that he and his family are to be transplanted from metropolitan Berlin to a house out in the middle of nowhere.
Along their house runs a seemingly never-ending fence. Ever the explorer, Bruno discovers "hundreds or even thousands" of people living on the other side of the fence, one a boy with whom he develops a friendship. Listen to John Boyne talk about his writing and answer questions sent in from around the world in front of a live audience.
