Queenan's Crime Scenes
Published on Friday, April 9, 2010 - 4:14pm
American humorist, critic, and author Joe Queenan is the host of this two-part BBC World Service documentary series which examines the relationship between real locations where crime occurs, and how these inform home-grown, hard-boiled crime literature. In part one of the series, Queenan travels to Washington, DC, where he uncovers the seamier side of the city tourists rarely see, discusses the city as inspiration with author George Pelecanos, and as participant with crime reporter for the Washington Post, Keith Alexander.
