Midnight Movies at Six

Annual Summer Cult Film Series Begins May 10

Chevy Chase Library will begin its annual summer cult film series, "Midnight Movies at Six," starting May 10. This series will features films that weren't always commercially or critically successful, but have developed a devoted following though word of mouth.

The summer schedule is as follows:

5/10 Bottle Rocket (1996) directed by Wes Anderson; Rated R
5/17 They Live (1988) directed by John Carpenter; Rated R
5/24 Zodiac (2007) directed by David Fincher; Rated R
6/21The Big Lebowski (1998) directed by Joel Coen, Rated R
6/28 Flirting with Disaster (1996) directed by David O. Russell; Rated R
7/19 Double Feature:
***Freaks (1932) directed by Tod Browning; Not Rated
***Pi (1998) directed by Darren Aronofsky; Rated R
7/26 Repo Man (1984) directed by Alex Cox; Rated R
8/9 Harold and Maude (1971) directed by Hal Ashby; Rated PG
8/16 Go (1999) directed by Doug Liman; Rated R
8/23Spirited Away (2001) directed by Hayao Miyazaki; Rated PG
8/30 Ghost World (2001) directed by Terry Zwigoff; Rated R

All films begin at 6 p.m. and, with the exception of Spirited Away, all films are intended for adult audiences.
