Teen Space

Teen Space is designed to meet the educational, recreational, and developmental needs of library users ages 12-19 and provide support to the adults who serve this age group.

Teen Space offers a large selection of print and media materials, including circulating copies of contemporary and classic fiction and nonfiction, audio books, a selection of magazines and periodicals of interest to teens, and popular music on CD.  Additionally, the YASD boasts several computers for teen use that feature Internet access and Microsoft Suite capabilities and a listening station that lets teens preview select music titles from our collection. The YASD staff is specially trained to provide exceptional service to teen patrons, including readers’ advisory and materials selection assistance, database instruction, and general online navigation support.

Children’s Room

Located on the second floor, the Children’s Room offers young customers and their caregivers a wide selection of print, audiovisual and electronic resources, including board books, picture books, easy readers, juvenile fiction, children’s DVDs and audio books, and computers with Internet access and Microsoft applications. The expansive nonfiction collection will appeal to youth up to age 16. The diverse collections include resources in Spanish, Chinese, Russian, Vietnamese and German.
