Will Attend Harvard University Program
Chang Liu, Associate Director for Neighborhood Library Services at the DC Public Library, has been awarded the Leadership Fellows Scholarship from Public Library Association (PLA). Liu will attend Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government’s “Senior Executives in State and Local Government” program this June.
“I am honored to receive this prestigious scholarship,” said Liu. ”As more District residents rediscover the library, this program will give me new insights on how the library will continue making a difference in people’s lives.”
PLA, a division of the American Library Association, promotes the development and effectiveness of public library staff and public library services. The PLA Leadership Fellows Scholarship offers PLA members financial support to attend executive leadership training at some of the best universities in the United States. The Kennedy School’s three-week program trains public officials to lead results-driven government agencies.
