Woodridge Library Celebrates Dads

Third Annual Father's Day Essay Contest

Picture of child and manThe Woodridge Library is celebrating fathers by sponsoring
an essay contest for young people ages 10-16.

Youth are invited to write a one-page essay entitled "The Father in My
Life." Contestants may write about the role and importance of their
father or a father-figure in their lives.

The contest is open
from May 1 to 31, 2010. Winning entries will be chosen by a panel of
judges.

All entries should include a cover page with your name,
address, phone number and age.
Entries will become the property of
the DC Public Library. A first, second and third prize winner will be
chosen.

The public is invited to a reception on Wednesday, June
16, 2010, at 7 p.m. where the winners will be announced. Winners will be
notified by June 9, 2010.
