Children's Book Club at Palisades

Children in grades K & 1 have been participating in a weekly book club at the Palisades Library.
Each Tuesday at 4:00 pm, Children's Librarian Miss Lorraine chooses a book to read aloud based on participants' interests and combines the story with related games and activities.
A previous read-aloud was Who Broke Lincoln's Thumb? by Ron Roy, from the Capital Mysteries series. Everyone played detective to figure out who the culprit was as the clues were read. Another selection was A Picture Book of Amelia Earhart, a biography of the famous woman pilot.
On June 9, Miss Lorraine will be reading Ms. Frizzle's Adventures: Ancient Egypt by Joanna Cole. The Magic Schoolbus series is always fun and informative!
One June 16th, Miss Lorraine will be reading Gooney Bird Greene by Lois Lowry. "When Gooney Bird Greene arrives in Mrs. Pidgeon's second grade class unannounced, nobody knows quite what to make of her. Decked out in pajamas and cowboy boots and holding her lunch with a dictionary, she immediately becomes the class's star pupil." Everyone will be laughing their way through this book!
Miss Lorraine looks forward to meeting more K-1 students.
