Northeast Branch Children's Book Club

“Read like a wolf eats.”  That’s a quote from Gary Paulsen.  He has written over 200 books and there is a book for practically everyone’s needs: adventure, historical fiction, biography, humor, and mystery.  On July 1, 2010, the children’s book club will be discussing Gary Paulsen’s Harris and Me: a Summer Remembered.  The main characters are nine-year-old Harris (of course) and his distant relative, eleven-year-old Orlo.  Orlo is not fortunate enough to have competent parents, but he is fortunate enough to have relatives who take turns taking care of him from time to time.  Orlo has lived in many places including the Philippines.  He has never lived on a farm.  This summer is going to be different, funny, and never boring.   Come to the book club meeting on the first day of July at 4:00 p.m.  There will be snacks and a book-related activity.  This book club is intended for ages 8 – 12, but all are welcome (especially family members).<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
