should stop by Monday the 14 at 2 p.m. to see the Peabody Award-winning
documentary The
Celluloid Closet, narrated by Lily Tomlin. Hollywood insiders
such as Whoopi Goldberg, Tom Hanks, Armistead Maupin, Arthur Laurents,
Shirley MacLaine, Tony Curtis, Gore Vidal and others provide precious
insight into how Hollywood filmmakers over the years have influenced how
we think of gay people, and not in a good way.
The film runs
about 1 hour and 42 minutes. A discussion will be held afterward for those who would like to share their thoughts or learn more about the film.It is rated R.
