Eric Holder in Fantasyland

The House has approved a precedent-setting resolution to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in criminal contempt of Congress. It was the first time a sitting Cabinet member has been held in contempt. (June 28)

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder today lives in two Fantasylands. The real one is at Disneyworld where the nation's chief law enforcement officer is giving a speech to the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) which is holding its annual convention at the Florida resort.

The unreal Fantasyland, is in Washington, D.C., where the  U.S. House of Representatives voted this afternoon  to hold Holder in criminal contempt for refusing to turn over documents to a commitee investigating the "Fast and Furious" operation.

The editoral board has opined that Holder and the White House were wrong to claim executive privilege and withold the information about the ATF operation in Mexico The operation was out of control and there is the death of a U.S. Border Patrol agent that needs to be explained.

If it wasn't an election year, we think a compromise would have been worked out.
