The editorial board thinks Nassau Community College should start over in its search for a new president. At this time, we’re planning to advocate for that in tomorrow’s paper.

We’re also keeping an eye on revelations from federal prosecutors, who have names of additional elected officials secretly tape-recorded by former Queens state Sen. Shirley Huntley, a Democrat. Huntley is due to be sentenced tomorrow; she has pleaded guilty to embezzling money from a nonprofit.

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo is holding a highly promoted tourism summit today. The board is watching for substance coming from that meeting.

Stories about delays in veterans benefits for tens of thousands around the country has the editorial board looking for the scope of the problem on Long Island.

And we’re conducting a conference call later today with The After School Corporation, a nonprofit that organizes activities for New York City students. The group has a new initiative to discuss.

If you have an opinion on any of the above, simply fill in a comment in the section below, or email letters@newsday.com.

Up on the Board is the editorial board's blog about what we just discussed at our weekday morning meeting. These meetings are where we talk about the news of the day and hash out our positions for the opinion sections of Newsday, Newsday Westchester and amNew York.
