50th Anniversary Balloons

Countdown to the 50th Anniversary Celebration at Palisades Library on November 15!

The Palisades Library will celebrate 50 years at the V St NW location from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Library Director Richard Reyes-Gavilan will lead a keynote address beginning at 1:30 p.m. A special day of events is planned including technology workshops, local bands, and a puppet show!  See a 3-D printer in action and meet local community groups!  The day's events have been generously supported by the Friends of Palisades Library.

Blue Sky Puppets!

Join us for a special comedic performance by Blue Sky Puppets, "The Jester's Box"!The jester, Ralph, is off to see King NFAFETMHL, the king who Never Found Anything Funny Enough To Make Him Laugh. If Ralph can make him laugh, he will gain fame and gold. But, if he fails, he must endure a jester's greatest humiliation - getting hit with a pie!

Annual Book Sale!

Books for kids! Join us for the annual used book sale in the entryway of the Tenley Library. Warm up and browse a selection of great children's books from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, December 5 thanks to the Friends of the Tenley-Friendship Library. Grown-ups are invited to browse the bookcart upstairs as well as clearance items in the Medium Conference Room.

Reverse Book Sale

Join the Friends of Rosedale Library (FORL) in celebrating the 3rd Anniversary of the Rosedale Library with a Reverse Book Sale. Drop off your gently used books or make a donation. We’ll use the books to raise funds for FORL programs and events at the Library.

Friends of the Northeast Library Used Book Sale

Come to the Friends of the Northeast Library Used Book Sale on Saturday, November 7 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.  They have tons of titles in like-new condition!  All proceeds will go to support branch library programs, especially those for children. 
Walking As Drawing

Makers-In-Residence 3D and Robotics Workshop - Walking As Drawing

Join the Friends of Tenley-Friendship Library and Freespace Collective, DCPL's Makers-In-Residence group, in their first interactive program of the 2015-2016 season. Participants will help create a 3D-printed map of the area around Tenley Library.  The map, entitled "Walking As Drawing," will function as a collective time-based map of the city.  Participants will explore the area around the library, and the paths walked will be integrated into the map. For ages 10 and up.
