50th Anniversary Balloons

Countdown to the 50th Anniversary Celebration at Palisades Library on November 15!

The Palisades Library will celebrate 50 years at the V St NW location from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Library Director Richard Reyes-Gavilan will lead a keynote address beginning at 1:30 p.m. A special day of events is planned including technology workshops, local bands, and a puppet show!  See a 3-D printer in action and meet local community groups!  The day's events have been generously supported by the Friends of Palisades Library.

The Annual Spring Book Sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are books for everybody at prices that can't be beat!  Lots of cookbooks, books for kids, fiction of all kinds, history and politics, Sci-Fi and much more.

Friends of the Northeast Neighborhood Library Used Book Sale

Come to the Friends of the Northeast Neighborhood Library Used Book Sale!   On Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17, the Friends will be showcasing some great books at low prices. They have a large selection of prize-winning literature and mysteries. All proceeds will support library programs, such as our weekly early literacy Play Date. Sale starts at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday and will be held on the Lower Level of the library. 

What Makes a Library Spectacular

Join The MLK Library Friends as they host "What Makes A Library Spectacular":  A series of talks exploring topics on modern libraries, current and future. The first topic is Makerspaces. We hope to see you Tuesday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Digital Commons, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library.

LEGO Month at the Library

We know you love them, so we brought them back: It's LEGO month at the library! You can build yourself an adventure while you make some new friends. Each Thursday this month we will feature LEGOs for you to enjoy, but each week we will present a different program challenge. So prepare yourself for a whole lot of fun!  For ages 6 and older.  But don't forget to look for other LEGO-related activites throughout April, including a special craft and a movie.
