50th Anniversary Balloons

Countdown to the 50th Anniversary Celebration at Palisades Library on November 15!

The Palisades Library will celebrate 50 years at the V St NW location from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Library Director Richard Reyes-Gavilan will lead a keynote address beginning at 1:30 p.m. A special day of events is planned including technology workshops, local bands, and a puppet show!  See a 3-D printer in action and meet local community groups!  The day's events have been generously supported by the Friends of Palisades Library.

Come explore the act of pop-up paper engineering with Visual Artist Karen O. Brown. Learn to make basic pop-up structures and add colorful insects to your creation. This STEM to STEAM workshop is engaging and combines Art and Science. For ages 6-12. Children under age 6 should have an adult with them.

Day at the Beach

No time to visit the beach? No problem! The beach is coming to your library on Sunday, July 24. Visit the Children's Department to bask in the “sun” on a beach towel with your favorite book, play in the sand, make a jellyfish craft, and catch a wave, all at MLK library! Fun for ages 0-12 and their caregivers.
