Every year, to celebrate National Bike Month, a group of library staff, advocates and community members strap on their bike helmets to help the DC Public Library promote environmentally friendly transportation and explore how our libraries connect with the communities they serve.  Tour de DCPL VI will be Saturday, May 16 at 9 a.m. Stay tuned for route and registration info.

Women & Bicycles Storytelling Hour with WABA

Join WABA's Women & Bicycles group for an evening of camaraderie, storytelling, and skillsharing. The group facilitates good, old fashioned storytelling and welcomes newcomers, especially gals who aren't already involved in the group or don't already bike. Each month they choose a theme, you bring different kinds of stories on that theme. This month's theme: What is family.

Library Lovers Like to Bike!

Find out just how many Library Lovers Like to Bike as we celebrate National Bike Month! Families with children ages 9 and younger will meet at Mt. Pleasant Library promptly at 1:30 p.m. for a briefing on bike safety conducted by friendly staff at City Bikes and biking police officers. At 2 p.m., everyone will don their helmets and ride to Petworth Neighborhood Library, where we will converge with other Ward 4 families and community friends for an outdoor/indoor (depending on weather) celebration!
