Volunteers from The Bike House collective and Capitol Hill Bikes will provide bike repair services at no cost for the public outside of Anacostia Neighborhood Library on select Saturdays this summer from noon to 2:30 p.m.
Are you a DIY enthusiast? Do you like to repair your own bike?
For National Bike Month help us brainstorm and design 3-D printed parts and accessories for a bicycle!
From cupholders to light fixtures to handlebars, 3-D printers can be an economical solution to upgrading your set of wheels!
Curious what all the fuss is about 3-D printing?
Attend this class for an overview of the 3-D printing technology currently available, plus tips for how to download your own files and have them printed into physical objects here at the library!
Find out just how many library lovers really like to bike as we celebrate National Bike Month in May 2015! A special bike-to-storytime program is planned in Northeast D.C. and in Northwest D.C., at the beginning and ending of the month!
Saturday, May 2, 9:30-11:30 a.m.: Bicyclists of all ages will meet at Southeast Neighborhood Library by 10 a.m. for a ride to Northeast Neighborhood Library, where we will join other Ward 6 families and enjoy an outdoor celebration with stories, crafts and snacks!
Celebrate National Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 15, by riding your bike to work.
Come find DC Public Library at the Freedom Plaza Bike to Work morning pit-stop! Flash your DC Public library card (or sign up for one) and get a bike-friendly gift! Take a photo at our table and enter our #ReadRideDC National Bike Month contest.
Join us for an evening of bikes and movies to cap off National Bike Month. Starting at dusk outside of our neighbors at Hill Center, we will screen some awesomely bikey titles from our IndieFlix streaming movie database.
Brush off your knitting needles and join us as The Knitty Gritty Committee (Southwest Library's very own knitting circle) celebrates National Bike Month!
David Quick of Southeast Neighborhood Library and resident knitting aficionado extraordinaire will be on deck to highlight different knitting patterns you can use to spruce up your bike, including a pattern that has the D.C. flag on it!
Free. No registration required. Knitting needles are available to borrow.
