In celebration of Teen Literature Day, teens will share their favorite books with other teens.

It's a Draw

Do you love to draw?  Join us for a pen and ink drawing contest.This is the first contest to select original designs to appear on Capitol View’s website. The first-place winner will receive a $25 gift card to Michael’s Arts and Crafts store.  Second- and third-place winners will receive prizes. Pick up contest forms and guidelines at the Capitol View Neighborhood Library.

14 Women - Documentary

All American women received the right to vote with the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1920. Eighty-five years later, the unprecedented number of 14 women were elected to the 109th Congress as United States Senators.View a documentary that presents the lives of these 14 senators and examines the issues surrounding women's political power in the United States. Hunger Games Fashions

Join us for some fashion-forward fun before the premiere of "The Hunger Games" movie! Make a mockingjay pin and draw your own designs of Hunger Games Tribute costumes. Ages 11-17.  All art supplies provided.

Child Hunger Is Not a Game

To raise awareness about child hunger in the District, the Southwest Neighborhood Library will host a food drive from March 10th to 24th. Please drop off donations of lcanned goods and whole grain dry food at the Hunger Action Station. Please see dclibrary.org/southwest for recommended food donation items.This drive is in anticipation of the March 23rd release of the film adaptation of author Suzanne Collins' best seller The Hunger Games.  All donations will benefit Capital Area Food Bank.
