Lemonade Day

Lemonade Day is a community-wide educational program designed to teach kids how to start, own and operate their own business through a lemonade stand. Give kids the opportunity to learn valuable life skills through real-life experience! Lemonade Day teaches kids how to: -Set goals -Plan for success -Create a budget -Find an investor -Advertise their business -Build a stand -Purchase supplies -Make healthy lemonade -Set up for business -Provide good customer service -Account for business results

Girls Rock! Instrument Share

Participate in a free instrument share and try out Girls Rock! DC's instruments first-hand. Practice singing into a microphone, riffing on a guitar, and finding the beat on the bass and drums. It's gonna be awesome, so get ready to stand up and rock out! For kids and teens, ages 8 to 19.

In the Zone: St. Patrick's Day Shadow Puppet Show

You’re invited to a special St. Patrick’s Day edition of In the Zone! Tenley Library presents "Three Tales, Three Tricks: Three Irish Fairy Tales," a shadow puppet show that will take place in the story time room. Enjoy three stories inspired by Irish folk tales featuring tricky characters - including Ireland’s most famous trickster of all, the leprechaun! Recommended for ages 5 - 12.

Spring Seed Starting Workshop

Start your garden planning right by learning about the best ways to get seeds started. In this workshop, library staff will demonstrate a few techniques and simple tools you can use to make the most of early planting. This will be a fun, interactive session. All experience levels are welcome.
