Makena Goes to School

It's Makena's first day of school! She is excited to start school but how will she adjust to this new environment? Makena Goes to School is the first title by Makena Toldson illustrating life principles for young readers. All-Ages Board Game Party

Celebrate International Games Day at the Southeast Library with two hours of drop-in fun. We'll provide light refreshments as well as popular and lesser-known board and card games appropriate for all ages, preschoolers through adults -- but feel free to bring your favorite game along, too!

Pajama Story Time

An evening story time where pajamas are encouraged but not required. These 30-40 minute evening programs are designed to delight children of all ages. Filled with stories and activities that promote and develop language skills and imagination these programs encourage children to develop a lifelong love of reading and learning.
Board Game

International Games Day

Saturday, November 21st is International Games Day!  Come celebrate and participate by coming to the library and playing board games and/or Wii.  We will have games available between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Music and Movement

Sing, dance, and reveal your inner musician at our music and movement time for children ages birth to 5 and their caregivers. Our music time is dynamic and interactive, so come ready to participate in the fun.  Free tickets are required due to limited space. Tickets are distributed beginning 30 minutes before music time on a first-come, first-served basis.  Have a group? Please call ahead of time to schedule a visit at 202-698-3372.

Come and enjoy a one-man show written and performed by local actor Dwane Starlin, drawing from Sousa's body of personal papers, letters, recordings, and biographies and in celebration of Sousa's birthday, November 6, 1854.

Reverse Book Sale

Join the Friends of Rosedale Library (FORL) in celebrating the 3rd Anniversary of the Rosedale Library with a Reverse Book Sale. Drop off your gently used books or make a donation. We’ll use the books to raise funds for FORL programs and events at the Library.

Halloween BINGO

We will have a scary good time playing a special Halloween-version of BINGO for prizes.   We will hold two BINGO sessions: 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm.
