Parents, educators and children can join us in an informative workshop as staff members explain and demonstrate library resources. Learn more about educational assets that the library provides, such as our databases, homework help and more. Stop by if you need assistance with personal questions as well: If you ever wondered how to pick a book for child or want more information about reading with them, then we are here to help. Remember your library card is your first step towards a threshold of amazing opportunities.

It's Family Story Time!

Join us for Family Story Time. On alternating weekends we will enjoy age-appropriate stories, songs, finger plays, movement and rhymes. This program is for children ages 0-7 and their adult caregivers.

Children's Movie

Merida is a princess who wants the power to choose her own fate, but when her actions unleash a beastly curse, can she set things right and remain true to herself? This film is rated PG, with a run time of 93 minutes.

Black History Month Movie

February is Black History Month and we are celebrating the many contributions of African Americans to American society. For our monthly family movie, we will be showing a film about Ruby Bridges who, at 6 years old, was the first black student to attend integrated schools in New Orleans, La., in 1960. Learn about Bridges' experience and her role in the Civil Rights Movement.  This film is rated G, with a runtime of 90 minutes.

Family Movie Sing-Along!

For Women's History Month, we visit a tale of a legendary woman from ancient China. In Disney's retelling of a classic Chinese poem, a girl disguises herself as a boy to take her father's place in the army and fight the invading Huns. Will the Huns conquer China? Will she be discovered? Come to our sing-a-long and find out! This film is rated G, with a runtime of 90 minutes.

Celebrate Black History Month with the Jackson Family Art Show!

The Jackson Family Art Show celebrates three generation of greatness in art! Come to the Bellvue Library to celebrate Black History Month with an art exhibit, reception, and hands-on art demonstration and art show.  The Jackson Family Art Show will also visit: King Memorial Library on Feb. 5, 6 p.m. Rosedale Library on Feb. 17, 6:30 p.m.

Letters About Literature Recognition Ceremony

"How did an author’s work change your view of the world and yourself?”  This ceremony celebrates year’s Letters About Literature writing competition submissions. Participating students, grades 4 – 12, wrote letters to an author of a work that left a lasting impression to explain how their views were changed by the work.
