Baby Lap Time

Saturday Baby Lap Time (On Selected Saturdays)

A story time experience for our youngest library users and their caregivers!  These 20-30 minutes story times introduce books, songs, rhymes, tickles and bounces developmentally appropriate for children ages birth to when they start walking.  Baby Lap Time is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the joys of reading in a positive and fun atmosphere. This story time is designed so the baby will be in their caregiver’s lap and the grownup is actively involved in the program; it is recommended that each child have their own adult with them.

Pajama Story Time

An evening story time where pajamas are encouraged but not required. These 30-40 minute evening programs are designed to delight children of all ages. Filled with stories and activities that promote and develop language skills and imagination these programs encourage children to develop a lifelong love of reading and learning.

Global Stories and Songs

Hello, Bonjour, Buenos Dias! Good Day, Guten Tag, Konichiwa! Ms. Tea and Ms. Tracy invite you to come enjoy stories and songs from all around the world! Help build multi-cultural awareness and appreciation in your young child as our books and music fuel the imagination and carry us across the globe to different delightful destinations each month!  

Family Story Time

Beginning Wednesday, February 3, 2016 The Parklands-Turner Neighborhood Library will host Family Story Time every Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m.Story time fun for the entire family, these 30-40 minutes story times are packed full of books and activities designed to be enjoyed by all ages. Promoting language and literacy skills, these story times are a great way to further your child’s lifelong love of reading and learning. Children and their grownups are encouraged to actively engage and participate with the stories and activities during the program.
Chinese Dragon

Chinese New Year Family Storytime

Join the Parklands Turner Library Staff for a special Chinese New Year Family Storytime!   Together we will read books about Chinese New Year, learn how the Chinese New Year is celebrated, learn about the Chinese Zodiac, and make a monkey craft in honor of the Year of the Monkey!  This storytime is for families and children of all ages up to 12.
Hooray for Hat!

In the Zone: Hooray for Hats!

We kick off this month’s In the Zone with a story—Hooray for Hat! by Brain Won. Then we will make our own fun, mini top hats and enjoy other book-related activities. In the Zone is held the third Tuesday of each month for kids ages 5-12 to kick back and enjoy games, crafts, or other fun.

Bring your favorite furry (stuffed) companion and join us for some fun stories! Appropriate for ages 3-5.

Doggy Story Time

Join in the silliness of International Dog Biscuit Appreciation Day by enjoying a dog-themed story time, a special craft afterwards, and a showing of the classic film Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey. The film begins at 5 pm, is rated G, and runs for 84 minutes.

Disney Story Time

Join us for a special, interactive Disney Story time and craft.  Feel free to dress up as we explore many classic Disney tales.  This program is appropriate for children ages 3 and up.
