Halloween Celebration

Happy Halloween! Join us in the Children's Room of the Northeast Library for a day of stories, crafts, and tasty treats! Spooky Storytime: 10:30-11 a.m. Creepy Crafts: 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Trick or Treat: 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Be sure to come in costume!

Summer Reading Finale Party

Enjoy the last few weeks of summer with a special summer reading finale party for kids and teens!   1:30 p.m. – Superhero Story Time – Children can listen to a special superhero-themed story time and discuss their favorite superheroes and what powers they would want as superheroes. Coloring pages will also be provided. 2-4 p.m. – Beats – Teens will get to participate in a digital music workshop that gives participants the opportunity to create music together. Appropriate for ages 9-19.

American Sign Language (ASL) Story Time!

Janice Rosen, Deaf Services Librarian, will sign stories in American Sign Language (ASL).   Therapy dogs from People Animals Love (PAL) will join the story time fun.    Story-related activities will follow.

Doggie Storytime with PAL

Join us for a doggie themed story time.  We’ll read some dog related stories and have a simple craft on hand that you can also take home to complete. Best of all come and meet Candy the dog, our PAL (People. Animals. Love) companion! She would love to have her new friends read her a story. Family and Friends are invited to join in the fun!

Adios Amigos! Farewell friends!

I am sorry to announce that Bilingual Story Time with Ms. Ortiz will be ending. The final program will be Wednesday, August 12th at 10:30 a.m. It has been a pleasure serving you all for the past year and a half! Thank you for your support   Sentimos anunciar que la Hora de Cuentos Bilingüe con Senorita Ortiz se termina. El final programa será el 12 de Agosto. ¡Ha sido un placer de trabajar con ustedes! Creative Movement Story Time

Join us for a story time focused on different types of movement! We’ll read stories and explore, imitate and improvise the movements and dances in each story. Wear some comfy clothes and shoes so you can wiggle around! (The dancing part is optional, but fun!) Ages 4-6.

Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. kick-off National Hispanic Heritage Month in the Great Hall with music, dancing, live performances, face-painting and crafts for kids. This event is free and for all ages. Families are welcome! De la 11 a.m. a 4 p.m. venga para celebrar la Mes de la Herencia Hispana. Habrá música, baile, espectáculos en vivo, pintura de la cara, y manualidades para niños. Este evento para la familia es gratis y para todas las edades. ¡Traiga la familia!
Billy Goats Gruff

Billy Goats Gruff Bilingual Play and Storytime

Enjoy a bilingual English/Spanish storytime and play put on by DC Public Library librarians in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. We will be reading stories and acting out a bilingual version of the Billy Goats Gruff. For ages birth-5 and their caregivers.
