Tech Talk Tuesday

Tech Talk Tuesday takes place every first Tuesday in room 215, Adaptive Services, at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library.This meet-up is an opportunity for adaptive technology users to receive training in specific technologies. Past guest hosts have included Richard Krafsig of TCS Associates offering free training in GW Micro products like the BrailleSense note taker and Window Eyes screen reader.Currently, we are featuring an iPad accessibility training using the Voiceover screen reader, Zoom magnification and accessible apps.

National Forum on Disability Issues Webcast

American Sign Language Story Hour

We will read The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson, which will be signed in ASL.Gallaudet University students will sign stories in ASL.

Poetry Reading in American Sign Language

Pia Taavila, English Professor at Gallaudet University and CODA (Child of Deaf Adults), reads and discusses her poetry, inspired by growing up in a deaf world of visual imagery. She is the author of Moon on the Meadow (Gallaudet U. Press, 2008), Two Winters (Finishing Line Press, 2011) and Night Watch (forthcoming). ASL and voice interpreters will be present.
