Board Game Night

Come out to Southeast Library and join us for board games.  We'll have a few options, from familiar ones like Taboo to others you may have never played before, like Forbidden Island.   The rules of the game will be explained on the spot, so don't fret if you have never played the game before.   Until then, feel free to read up on the world of games with these books:

Casey Trees TreeWise Program

TreeWise is Casey Trees’ nature- and place-based summer education program, developed to get youth outdoors, interacting with and appreciating trees. Youth participants engage in fun, hand-on activities including scavenger hunts, leaf and bark rubbings, tree identification and water relays — tailored to be age-appropriate for ages 6-10. There will be two different sessions, one at 10 a.m. and the other at 11a.m.  Each session is an hour long.

OSSE Healthy Schools ACT: Story Time

Question: What food every hero loves to eat? Answer: Come and find out on July 8. Join us for a fun, interactive read-aloud with books from the Healthy Schools Act Booklist that celebrates health and wellness. This program is for 5- to 10-year-olds designed to build literacy, listening and group participation skills. For ages 5-7 at 10:30 a.m. Ages 8-12 at 1 p.m.  

Kids Love Karaoke! (Summer Reading Series)

"Kids Love Karaoke" is a summer reading series that encourages confident reading and singing in public, as well as active listening in young people 6 to 16 years old. Be a hero and courageously share your vocal gifts in a supportive, friendly environment before you get discovered by the professionals! This program can also fulfill up to an hour of your summer reading requirement!

Make your Own Superhero Cape and Signal

Deck yourself out in superhero gear! Every superhero must be prepared so we will help you make a superhero cape and a superhero signal, just like Batman. This event is part of our Summer Reading program and is recommended for ages 3-6.
