Summer Reading Kickoff Celebration

Join your Southeast Neighborhood Library to celebrate the start of Summer Reading!  10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: All ages can enjoy hero-themed crafts and activities, plus snacks and a superhero photo booth 11 a.m.: Hero story time for families with children ages 0-8.

Neighborhood Heroes: Dorothy I. Height

Join us for a talk on the life and work of Dorothy I. Height by Monie Broadus from The Dorothy Irene Height Education Foundation. Hailed as "the godmother of the Civil Rights Movement" by President Obama, Dr. Height was a committed activist, a leader of numerous organizations including the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), and a lifelong champion of African American and women's rights. 
Maker Camp

Maker Camp

The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library Teen Space is a Maker Camp site!  From July 6 to Aug. 14, we will be doing exciting experiments and projects Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4-6 p.m. and Fridays, 4-5:30 p.m. Children ages 8 and older and teens are invited to come join the fun every day of the camp or to just drop in whenever they are free.   No registration is necessary.
