For 2014, the Summer Reading theme is STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

Part of our summer reading science program. Ages 4 and up are invited to explore scientific concepts and conduct experiments. This week we will talk about what makes hot air balloons fly. Participants will then have a chance to make their own hot air balloon.

Part of our summer reading science program. Ages 4 and up will have a chance to explore scientific concepts and conduct experiments. This week we will be discussing what makes airplanes fly. Participants will then help make four different models of paper airplanes and test to see which one flies the furthest.

Glow in the dark picture frame

Children will experiment with glow in the dark paint and watch the effect of the sun on the painted frame and then see the reaction of the paint when exposed to black light.

Make an easy Lava Lamp

In this science experiment children will learn how they can use regular household items to make a lava lamp. This program is for children ages 2 and up.

Clouds In a Bubble

Children will experiment with dry ice and soapy mixture. This program is for children ages 5 and up.

Make a Big Dry Ice Bubble & Make Fizzy Lemonade

Experiment with dry ice and use home made soapy water and make your own fizzy lemonade. This program is for ages 5 and up.
