The Shepherd Park Afternoon Book Club will be reading The Help by Kathryn Stockett for their October 6, 2010 book club meeting in room A located on the second floor of the Shepherd Park Library. The meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at 1:30pm.

This month we are making Mexican papel picado. These are traditional party decorations involving intricate paper cutting. Arts and Crafts at Shepherd Park are the first Wednesday of the month at 4:30 pm. All ages are welcome and you do not need to sign up ahead of time.

Thornton/Shepherd Park Library, and we want you to join us.he book club meets the third Monday of the month, from 7 to 8:45 p.m., on the second floor of the library. The book club focuses on fiction authored by African-American, Caribbean, and African authors. Books we select are available in the DC Public Library System and are placed on hold for club members to check out.
