Three colorful bookmarks created in the 2024 Southwest Library Bookmark Design Contest

Create our 2025 bookmarks! Submit your design for the 2025 Southwest Library bookmark by Dec. 1. Winners will receive a gift card to Politics & Prose and have their design printed and available for patrons at the Southwest Neighborhood Library. 

Contest Rules

  • Submit your design in person with the paper template or online at tinyurl.com/swbookmarkcontest by December 1, 2023.
  • Divisions:
    • Grades K-5
    • Grades 6-8
    • Grades 9-12
    • Ages 18+
  • Designs must be 2x6". Digital entries must be at least 300 dpi and submitted as an image file (.jpg, .png, .gif)
  • Winners will be notified by email/phone in December and receive a Politics & Prose gift card and their design printed and available for readers at the library beginning in January.
  • Please note designs will not be returned to their creators.

Some US states, counties and cities have begun using ranked voting in elections. On November 5, 2024 DC voters approved Initiative 83, which will allow DC voters to rank their top five candidates if the DC council upholds it. Because the process is new and confusing to many voters, there are questions and misinformation surrounding the issue. Ranked voting has the potential to bring positive changes to the election process.
