The Anacostia Library opened in April 2010 serving the District’s highest population of youth under 18. A hub in the Anacostia community, it offers resources beyond a quiet space for reading.

DC Public Library is dedicated to maintaining your neighborhood library. As a part of continued improvements across our library system, the Anacostia Library will be closed from Monday, July 22 - Sunday, Aug. 4 for a scheduled facilities project. The worn carpet will be removed and replaced to improve the usability and appearance of the space.
Any available holds should be picked up by Sunday, July 21. Due dates for items checked out from the Anacostia Library will be extended. The book drop will be locked during the closure. If you would like to return items before the library reopens you can visit any DC Public Library location.
